Maya (played by Louisa Clein) was discharged from hospital during last night’s instalment of Emmerdale, with Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) back under her control after he recently tried to distance himself from the menacing villager.
Jacob had been spending a lot of time with his friend Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) on the ITV soap which caused Maya’s jealousy to rear it’s head, telling Liv’s brother Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) the teenager was pressuring his little sister.
After raging at Jacob and Liv explaining her friend wasn’t doing anything wrong, Aaron apologised to the teenager who realised Maya was the one stirring trouble.
However, Jacob couldn’t be more concerned after hearing Maya had been rushed to hospital, with his step-grandfather Eric Pollard (Chris Chittel) picking up on the teenager’s urgency to see his step-father David Metcalfe’s (Matthew Wolfenden) girlfriend.
When the pair were left together, when David went to fetch a cup of tea, Jacob confessed his love for Maya and told her he would keep their relationship a secret.
Returning home, Jacob was on hand to help Maya with the two playing video games as they continued to grow closer, but they were soon interrupted by Liv.
The teenager asked if Jacob wanted to get out for a while, but Jacob was hesitant to leave Maya, telling Liv: “I’m going to say here. She might need something.”
Although Maya made it seem she was encouraging Jacob to go out with Liv, the teenager reiterated his resistance to leave her, with Liv seemingly confused by Jacob’s concern for his teacher.
“You’re not going weird on me are you?” Liv asked Jacob before she made her exit, leaving her friend and teacher to their time together.
However, this isn’t the first clue Liv has been exposed to about Maya’s abuse as in Thursday’s episode, she and Jacob were spending the evening together when Maya left an incriminating voicemail on the teenager’s phone.
With Jacob’s secrecy regarding his feelings towards Maya beginning to slip, could Liv be the villager to expose Maya’s grooming of her friend and reveal her abuse?
Viewers of the ITV soap believe the youngster could be the character to save Jacob from May’s hold.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Liv should train to be a detective- Lachlan, Maya….Hotten Police should put her on Graham’s tail as well! Then #robron can get their Haulage Firm back #Emmerdale #robron #Roblivion.
Another added: “Emmerdale Liv will work it out, she’s the only one with any sense, she sussed out Lachlan.”
Referring to Liv’s detective skills, a third posted: “Liv is smarter than the entire village. She’ll find out about Maya and Jacob in no time.”
“She was the one who had Lachlan sussed very early on. Jacob will accuse her all sorts but she’ll be right! #Emmerdale,” a fourth replied.
If Liv does begin to connect the dots, could it ruin her friendship with Jacob for good? Will the teenager really turn against Liv as he is blindsided by Maya’s abuse?
Elsewhere in the Dales, another villager could’ve turned detective as the police paid another visit to Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) following the investigation into Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) murder.
Picking up on the mysterious conversations between Graham and Joe’s believed killer Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Megan Macey (Gaynor Faye) began to question what the two men were hiding.
However, with Graham no where to be seen as the police arrived at Home Farm, Megan was on hand to help the police with their inquiries. Could Megan have dug Cain in a deeper hole, worrying her partner Graham has something to do with Joe’s disappearance?
