Fabiana Sofia Perera and Stephan Barron Seabrook are to be married May 27 by Rabbi Suzanne Stone at the Arts Club of Washington, a private club and gallery.
Ms. Perera, 35, graduated cum laude from Northern Michigan University, received a master’s degree in Latin American studies from Georgetown and is pursuing a doctoral degree in political science from George Washington.
She is a daughter of Marianela Ortega Ojeda of Caracas, Venezuela, and Ovidio Perera Moser of Doha, and a stepdaughter of Oly Arroyo Gelves. The bride’s father is a senior analyst in organizational effectiveness at Qatar Petroleum in Doha. Her mother is a lawyer in Caracas.
Mr. Seabrook, 36, works in Washington as a senior defense analyst for the RAND Corporation. He graduated magna cum laude from Bowdoin College and received a master’s degree in international relations and economics from Johns Hopkins in Washington.
He is the son of Dr. Sherry Barron-Seabrook and David G. Seabrook of West Orange, N.J. The groom’s mother, now retired, was a pediatric psychiatrist in Livingston, N.J. His father retired as a vice president at Public Service Electric and Gas in Newark.
The couple met in Washington in 2016 through the dating app Hinge.
