Saturday Morning host James Martin, 46, revealed it’s his team who update his official social media accounts, but admitted the last time he looked on there, he was criticised for his weight.
James explained: “I looked on social media and every comment was about me being fat.
“So I lost a stone-and-a-half. And no doubt I’ll lose another stone on this tour.”
James has began his James Martin’s On The Road…Again 2018 tour and admitted despite his weight loss, not all of his recipes are dedicated to healthy eating.
He told The Sun: “If you want to do Weight Watchers this show probably isn’t for you!
“I have double cream, full fat milk, cheese and butter and that’s just for one of the side orders on this tour.”
And the TV chef revealed it is likely his mother will make him a “bacon sandwich” in the morning when he goes on tour in York.
James also recently said in an interview that he keeps his weight down through stress.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, host Ben Shephard said: “You must be burning up a lot of calories on stage.”
James replied: “Mainly because of stress more than anything else because it’s a lot of weight, you have to perform every night.”
Earlier this year, the chef laughed off the idea of writing a diet book.
Speaking with I news, he said: “Not as long as my family were alive. They’d probably disown me.”
He added: “I was brought up on a farm. We produce food – that’s what we do.
“And we want people to enjoy the food that takes us a long time to produce.”
James added he couldn’t become a vegan as he “wouldn’t be able to survive.”
He spilled: “I don’t think I could survive. B****y hell, no.”
James famously fronted BBC’s Saturday Kitchen for 10 years until he left in 2016.
A year later, he launched ITV show Saturday Morning with James Martin, which is is pre-recorded from the comfort of his own home.
Discussing the change, he told the publication: “I’m much more relaxed.
“I’m still probably working much more than I ever did, but I’ve taken a bit of a pressure off myself.”
Saturday Morning with James Martin airs Saturdays on ITV at 9:30am.
