Star chef John Torode is possibly most famous for his role on Masterchef UK.
The 52-year-old lost three stone in weight back in 2010 and revealed his weight loss secret on morning TV.
The star said: “I feel brilliant, actually. It happened nearly 18 months ago now. It’s about three stone and I feel great for it.
“I cycle everywhere, I eat different.”
What was his big secret? It turns out it’s as simple as eating three times a day.
The star said: “The big secret, which somebody told me is the thing that all people who are very, very overweight have in common, is that they don’t eat breakfast.
“I now eat breakfast and make the point of sitting down with my children, eating breakfast and starting the day well.”
So, is there theory behind eating breakfast to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
A study in the US National Library of Medicine concluded that eating breakfast every day is associated with having a healthy body weight.
The scientists revealed this was likely due to a more even distribution of energy intake across meals throughout the day.
Another study published in the same place added that eating breakfast was associated with significantly lower coronary heart disease risk.
And that, among adults, skipping meals is associated with excess body weight, hypertension, insulin resistance, and elevated fasting lipid concentrations.
The story comes after the G Plan Diet – a gut focused food plan – hit peak interest with dieters in 2018.
The G Plan Diet is a gut focused diet plan that involves eating foods that help you to digest.
Pioneers claim the regimen is good for preventing bloating, as well as weight loss.
Good bacteria in your diet should help with weight loss and dietary discomfort.
Nutritionist Amanda Hamilton told Express.co.uk how the diet works, and provided some recipes you can try at home.
