Weight loss: Sarah Ferguson on how she lost four stone with this diet


Sarah Ferguson, also known as Fergie, has lost a large amount of weight in recent years. The Duchess of York shed 55lbs, or nearly four stone. 

The red-headed former-royal, who is the mother of the Queen’s two granddaughters.

Fergie revealed in 2015 how she lost a large amount of weight, shrinking from 13.5 stone to 9.6 stone.

The Duchess appeared on the Today show and told presenters how she was “addicted” to food.

Fergie said: “ My addiction was food. I used it to suppress my feelings and therefore every time I went through something—a salacious lie the media might tell about me—I ate to compensate.”

The Duchess revealed how she was a comfort eater, which led to weight gain.

She said: “I’ve been a comfort eater since I was about 12 years old and I used food as my friend. In fact, the size of my a** probably saved my life. 

“Sorry, to speak like that, but let’s be honest. Had I not just chosen food as my friend, I would have chosen something else. I mean a lot of people turn to shopping, alcohol, smoking, any other addiction.”

She revealed that hitting 190lbs was the catalyst for her weight loss.

“I got to a point where I just couldn’t bear looking at myself any minute longer. I was 190 pounds a year ago and I was miserable. You look at the top of the mountain, you think you’re never going to get there.”

Sarah, who has also appeared at the face of Weight Watchers in the past, lost almost four stone in three years and kept it off.

In November 2016 she told the Mail Online that she eats tomatoes, egg mayonnaise and mandarins to keep slim.
