The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced it is cancelling fines issued for violations for over 27,000 companies and 12,000 workers in the country.

The ministry said the waiving of fines relates to all those issued before August 1 this year. It said the decision was taken in keeping with the UAE’s Year of Tolerance.

Jebel Ali Free Zone waived an estimated AED35 million ($9.5 million) in fines owed by its businesses as part of the UAE government’s designation of 2019 as the Year of Tolerance in May this year.
