Monty Python’s Flying Circus first aired in October 1969.  The anniversary archive release includes photos and documents related to the ground-breaking comedy show. This includes a report revealing audience reactions to the programme and internal notes and memos about the programme.

The images have been restored by the BBC Photo Archive team and include behind-the-scenes photos of John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and the late Graham Chapman including images from the filming of such sketches as The Ministry of Silly Walks, And Now for Something Completely Different and The Attila the Hun Show.
