After battling Rain or Shine’s ballistic frontcourt primarily headed by Beau Belga for years, Bradwyn Guinto is glad that he gets to team up with the Elasto Painters big men this time around.

“I think it will be fun to join them because I fought them (Rain or Shine big men) for so many times,” the 6-foot-6 Guinto told The Manila Times on Saturday.

“They’re really tough, so it’s good to play with them instead [of] against them for once. I’m gonna learn a lot from them. Hopefully, we can work out and gel together.”

Guinto, who plays the power forward and center positions, said he’s a good addition to the Rain or Shine frontcourt of Belga, Jewel Ponferada, Norbert Torres and Prince Rivero.

“I think I can complement them because I am more of a rebounder, bruiser and garbage points guy. I’m just honored that they considered me to help them in the post. I’m so happy,” he shared.

“I’ll try my best to stop the six-time MVP. June Mar [Fajardo] is really a force to be reckoned with,” Guinto said lightheartedly.

Rain or Shine acquired Guinto from the NorthPort Batang Pier in exchange for Sidney Onwubere and Clint Doliguez.

The Philippine Basketball Association approved the trade on Wednesday.

Guinto, a six-year veteran, registered 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds for NorthPort in the 2020 Philippine Cup inside the Clark bubble.
