Actress Gong Seung-yeon’s latest film premiered at this year’s Jeonju International Film Festival, which started its 10-day run with a red carpet event in the southwestern city on Thursday.
As its title suggests, “Aloners” subtly portrays those who lead solitary lives. The film has been invited to the competitive section of the annual festival and was screened on Friday ahead of its general release on May 19.
Gong, who has appeared in a number of TV series since her debut in 2012, took on her first cinematic lead role in the film.
She plays a woman who chooses to live in seclusion and do things alone, instead of socializing with others, but faces changes in her life.
During the festival, Gong will attend a couple of talk sessions and other events to meet fans and share some behind-the-scene stories about filming.
