Actress Park Bo-young is set to return to the small screen next week after a hiatus of about two years.
Park, who suddenly announced she was taking a break shortly after her last TV series “Abyss” in 2019, appeared Thursday in a livestreamed press event to promote her upcoming TV series, “Doom at Your Service,” along with co-actors including Seo In-kook, who is also making a return after about three years.
“I thought I needed some rest because I wasn’t feeling well. I had time to take care of myself, spending time together with my family,” Park said at the event.
In the new series Park plays a woman whose seemingly ordinary life is disrupted by an unexpected twist of fate that requires her to put her life at risk, while Seo plays a messenger destined to doom everything to destruction.
When asked about the series, Park said, “The series made me realize that I like the fantasy genre. Previously, I didn’t think I liked it.”
“I have to admit that I felt a lot of pressure, because it has been a while [since my last appearance on television], but even more excitement offset all the worries and anxiety. As I’m getting closer with my co-stars and staff while filming, now I’m able to rely more on them and get more into the role,” Seo said.
The first episode of the series will be aired on May 10.
